My last photo class

A large group of women with cameras walked down the lake. Snapped photos here and there and snippets everywhere. Looking all weird getting close and finding angles, finding stability and framing their pictures just right. It must have been a funny scene to see.

My photo course
is coming to an end. It has been such a fantastic adventure. I have learned so much about composition, depth of field, exposure, light, focus, shutter speed, ISO and you name it. I have discovered tricks with my camera, functions I didn't know existed and I have had so many "AHAAAAAAAA..." moments I can't even count them.  We have discussed so many homework's success and errors, the absolutely best way of gaining new practical knowledge.

I am so glad I signed up for this 8-week photo course, to learn how my DSLR camera really work and be brave enough to step away from the Auto mode, only to discover a whole new world of photographic sensations.

Tonight is the last night. A last get together with my classmates and my brilliant teacher Michelle Petersen. The photos in this blog post are all taken in manual mode on our field trip in Rolle in mid October. We practised everything from macro to scenery, depth of field and a lot of composition. It was a great outing and that was the time when I not only used the manual mode on my camera but also manual focus for the first time. If you would like to hear more I would be happy to write a mini series about what I've learned. Touching the surface more than getting into depth. Because if you really want to improve your photographic skills, a course with someone professional is the way to go in my opinion. I highly recommend Michelle's classes and this course has definitely blown new life in my forever love for photography. This journey has only begun. Thank you Michelle.

  6. Great pictures, the course sounds brilliant. I really need to find a photography course, my digital SLR has so many settings and options, I know I only use a tiny percent of them. Thanks for inspiring me!
