I want slow...

It rained a lot yesterday and I can feel a big weather change coming in. This morning I woke up early, there are so many things going on in my life for the moment. I can't sleep so well. I don't have time for it all. Blogging is unfortunately the first thing to drop down my priority list and I really do miss the routine of writing and connecting with you all.

I flick through my iPhoto album, another thing on my Need-To-Be-Done list. Almost 40'000 pictures from the last 5 years that needs to be sorted and organized and preferably printed at some point... but where shall I start?

I found this lovely picture from 2014, the epic summer in Sweden. And in a time where I feel a bit overwhelmed by all the things I should do, need to do and want to do, I take a moment and transport myself back there and a feeling of calm enters me.

Isn't life spinning way to fast or is it only me thinking so? It feels like we all are running on top gear at all times. What's wrong with riding a moped at 30km an hour through life instead of a Ferrari at 220? We will reach our destination anyway... I want slow. Do you want slow? Will we ever go back to slow? Or at least a little bit slower than we run around today? The kind of slow where we sit by the beach and eat homemade burgers hot from the grill on a sunny summer evening. Smelling the water, feeling the wind, having the sun kissing our skin warm. Simple. Uncomplicated and oh so good.

A day in the garden

The sun comes out in November and suddenly it feels like April. I bring my kids out in the garden to give me a hand and clean it up a bit. We rake leaves from the plum tree, run the lawn mower one last time before Mr Winter will do his graceful entrance. We harvest some beets and baby carrots that later are cooked to perfection as a complement to our fish gratin.

The wild kittens are now comfortably going in and out as they wish to everyone's delight and relief. They are so cute climbing trees (Maya) to the farthest top, hiding in the flower beds (Izzy) and rolling around in the dirt in our newly weeded and nicely raked garden beds. It is a good day and I feel very lucky when I sit down with a cup of coffee to enjoy some hooky time outside before the sun disappears behind the tree tops. Life is good.

PS A big thank you to my Nelly Bo who was the person behind the camera lens this day, taking all the pictures. I think she is a natural behind the camera... (I say, sitting here with a big smug face of pride!!!)

Welcome dear November

I welcome you, dear November, with all your mythical beauty and hidden secrets of what the future holds. I walk in the foggy landscape and I'm amazed by the scenery you are setting up for me. I feel transformed back into the time of knights, princesses and brave fights in cheered on tournaments. I'm expecting the hero in his shining armor to appear around the corner on his white stallion at any minute. That would be a delightful sight.

Far away on the fields where horizon, forests and nature all blends together in a thick duvet of fog, I hear the symphony of some young cows accompanied by some strong young bulls. Slowly they appaer through the fog when I'm getting closer...

October was the most fantastic October we've had in years, with intense colors setting the nature on fire but I'm ready for this... The leaves are on the ground and the trees silhouettes are getting more and more bare by the days passing by. I'm ready for crisp and cold mornings and to dress up in warm knit wear. To cuddle up underneath all those crochet blankets inside. Lighting candles and enjoy my dear November with a new small crochet project in my hands.

It is my month, November. I turn 46 in ten days. I think I couldn't have been born another month of the year. November is me and I am November. Inside and out. Lets go for a walk you and me, dear November.
