How to make a Maybelle Flower Garland

Tilda yarn colors: No 005 Cream, No 572 Baby Blue, No 89 Laguna, No 88 Petrol.
Many have asked how to turn the Maybelle Flowers into garlands. I like making these as gifts for friends and for newborn babies. It is also one of my most sold handmade creations, sold locally in markets and shops as well as in my Etsy Shop.

The Maybelle Garland adds a wonderful homey feel in any room or for any exterior space like a balcony, terrace, shed or front door. Today I am sharing a simple tutorial on how to make these garlands on your own. It is super duper easy. And you can of course customize the length and amount of Maybelle Flowers used and put your own twist too yours. Good luck making your own! Enjoy!

MAYBELLE GARLAND
Time approx. 3 hours or less

You will need:
♥︎ Yarn (I have used Tilda yarn from Svarta Fåret, a cotton/acrylic mix yarn. Buy it in my Yarn Shop.)
♥︎ Crochet hook recommended by the yarn (I used a hook 3 mm/ C-D in US)
♥︎ A pair of scissors
♥︎ Darning needle

Abbreviations
UK/US
ch - chain UK/US
dc/sc - double crochet UK/single crochet US
st - stitch

Mönster på SVENSKA finns här.

Start
Make the number of Maybelle Flowers (pattern here) you want for your garland. I make 12 or 16 for my garlands and usually I use 4 different colors, making an equal amount of flowers from each color.

Step 1:
You make your garland from right to left, if you are right handed. Lay out the flowers in the order you want them and then you add them to your garland backwards, starting from the last flower.  Remember to add all the flowers with the right side facing you.  If you are left handed you do everything reversed.

Step 2:
Chain 60.

Step 3:
Make a dc(UK)/sc(US) in the top of the flower petal (the 4th stitch).

Step 4:

Chain 6 and make dc(UK)/sc(US) in the top of the next flower petal on the same flower.

Step 5:

Chain 15 and repeat for next and all the rest of your flowers. Finish with 60 chains and cut the yarn. FINISHED!
