Actually it was mostly this baby mobile that I saw over at Emma Lamb's blog that got me going on the flowers, but once I started making them my mind started to come up with one idea after another. When indulging in my flowers during coffee break at work with a colleague I suddenly could see a shawl take form from these flowers when we put them together in a pyramid... Who knows where this will end. I just keep on making them. I just can't stop myself. Every other crochet WiP (including my poor Gyspy Blanket...) is on hold for these.
I'm using a 4ply/sports weight cotton/acrylic mixed yarn (Tilda yarn from Svarta Fåret) and a hook size 3 mm for the flowers I have made so far. However, when going down to a 2,5 mm hook the flowers are more dense in their appearance which could be good for garlands and such. Tomorrow I will tell you more about the Tilda yarn and host a "Scrumptious Tilda Yarn Give Away". Don't miss that if you are a yarn lover like me. :D

you will see that you start the row with 3 chains which counts as the first dc and after that you make 23dc's into the ring which ends up being 24 stitches in total.

DeleteThank you for your message. I used a 4ply cotton/acrylic mix (Tilda yarn from Svarta Fåret) and a hook 2,5 mm. Depending on your tension, try your way to the right density of your flower. I like it when it is quite dense. You can use any 4ply/Sports Weight cotton available in retail and it will look wonderful. Good luck.
