Today's crochet WiP

The house is empty. All children ended up on sleep overs at friends' houses last night. We are watching morning news having morning coffee, Jay and me. Or, he is watching news and I am crocheting. Vaguely listening as I am the kind of person who avoids news as much as a can... I prefer living in my own little world... It can be painful enough as it is.

On my hook is a nice and simple pattern project from the book Haken & kleur written by the lovely Dutch crochet girls Saskia Laan from Haken bik Saar en Mien and Claire Boeter from Haken en meer. It will hopefully become a round pillow in the smoothest pink. With frills and neat stitches. More about this later as I have a signed copy of this fabulous book to Give Away. But not today. ow I am going outside to help my man in the garden. The sun is shining today and the wind has settled.

  1. Beautiful color you're crocheting with! But isn't it hard for you to use a Dutch pattern from a book? Have a nice sunday!

  3. I also try not to watch the news. It is never about happy things only sad.
I like living in my world.

  4. I know exactly what you mean about the news, our Sunday mornings are often similar, DH watching news and me sneaking a bit of crochet time. I love the look of your new project, cant wait to see how it turns out!

  8. Bonjour Annette.

  12. I really like the colour! It wouldn't fit into my flat but I adore it anyway! Haven't heard of the book yet but will certainly look it up!
Have a great day in the garden!
    Take care

  13. The pink is perfect. I've had a super time this weekend showing visitors around and walking by the seafront as temperatures today hit 22c.in the UK

  16. Recognizable that you also don't watch the news. I do that too ;-).
Lovely beginning of a new project, I'm curious how the cushion will look in the end, and indeed 'haken en meer' is a lovely dutch crochet book, it's on my wishlist (I'm not allowed to buy anymore books for now, I first need to 'finish' my last 2 ;-)).
    Hugs

  17. A lovely pillow to be sure, look forward to the finished piece. I've just recently made a pair for my porch swing, in pink and green with a rose in the center. Happy hooking and gardening! (I need to do the same, gardening wise.)

  18. Annette,

It's such a beautiful pink, not too bright, not too pale, just perfect! Which yarn and color did you use?
