I'm speechless...

You are truly a great lot. It took a lot of strength to press the publish button on yesterday's post. I let my guard down to the world and your cyber hugs and emotional support keeps pouring in...  I have read each and every message I have received, multiple times.! I'm speechless. Know I treasure every single word and everyone's support. It is comforting to know I'm not alone.

As I suspected I woke up with certain energy this morning, it is usually like that. One day of thunder and soon after the sun comes out... So today I started to prepare for a new business card order as MOO.com have a 25% discount on all orders until the 30th of September.

I like the new look. It feels like totally me. I like the font and think I will throw out my old blog header at some point and freshen it up with some new pictures and logo. This is my happy place. Designing. Creating. May it be with hook and yarn in hand or fingers on a keyboard in front of my computer. Stepping the pedal of a sewing machine or matching fabric squares on a design wall...

Things will turn around. Thank you all. From my heart... Today is a new day. A perfect day for some creative play and laughter. I guess I wasn't that speechless after all.

LOVE YOU!

  2. With your talent and work ethic I would hope that someone will come forward. You are a very special lady and don't ever think differently. Do I need to come over and give you a big hug? From California, that is. Is there a yarn shop around where you could teach?

  5. I suppose it would be trite to say that "every cloud has a silver lining."
But in fact every cloud DOES have a silver lining - as I think you are finding.

SO HAPPY to read that you are bouncing back and discovering the TRUE YOU! YOU are a valued person. You are creative, smart and dependable. Those in the "corporate world" who don't recognize that are the ones who are 'out of the loop'!
So it's up to you to prove them wrong...and I know that you will.

Keep that positive energy -- because the negative ninny part will tear you down and steal your creativity!
We all look forward to your new and awesome designs. Keep up your great work....and remember - you are LOVED by so many....don't ever forget that.

  8. Humans, by their very nature, need to be appreciated. When you're at home, bringing up children, appreciation isn't forthcoming. We don't have regular 'progress reports' or bonuses for doing something particularly well. We watch our husbands and children go off out into the world and do their thing, and then we greet them when they come back home. It's a precious job but quite a thankless one sometimes. When the time comes for us to go out into the world, we're stuffed! I haven't hidden the fact that I've felt exactly as you do over the past year or two. I applied for a number of part-time jobs earlier this year without success and didn't even get an acknowledgement from most of them. It's a real kick in the teeth and all this talk of treating mothers returning to work fairly is a load of crap. Employers are really missing a trick. Women like us would be a huge asset to any workforce. The skills we've acquired whilst being at home could knock any academic qualification into a cocked hat. That said, my love, I would say to you what I say to myself. Take a look at what My Rose Valley has achieved so far. You're an incredibly creative and intelligent woman; an avenue will open itself up to you. The ladies on the supermarket checkout often ask me "are you not at work today?" if I'm there in the middle of the day. I used to just say "yes" for an easy life. Now I say "no, I work for myself and one of the many benefits is not having to clock in and clock out". xxxxxxxxx

  12. That is wonderful news, Annette. We have all been there and felt that way in our own way. Sometimes you just need to sort of hit a low in order to "let it go" so that you can move forward again. It's good to get the feelings out and take a deep breath. You are worth so much more than you know and I can imagine the difficulties of living abroad. You are always on the right path and I would expect that things are going to start looking up for you again. :) xo

  14. Things will turn out you are so right. I do have a career and right now I have to work because I have two boys in college, but it is exhausting and I feel like some days I am not a good therapist because I am too tired. See we all have our doubts about who we are and what we contribute. You are a brilliant Mother and designer, don't ever forget that.
    Meredith.
