Mediterranean Granny Square breakfast

Today started out with a wonderful breakfast outside, accompanied by a Mediterranean Granny Square in the making. I found some perfect colors in my cotton stash. I don't have that much cotton yarn but it is enough for this project. It is inspiring to work with different colors than I usually work with. A more settled, warm and less bright color theme. You can see Mediterranean in there; sand, apricot, terracotta, fuchsia bouganvilla, sky blue, creamy white... maybe even some ocean aqua will be added... The colors bring me all the way back to France and the French window shutters.

Later today I picked up a dear friend from the airport, arriving from Canada. She will visit for 2 weeks. We are catching up. Having a nice dinner of chicken skewers, cous-cous and fresh green beans. With a glass of Rosé wine. Not her but me. She is about to crash from the jet lag. I am preparing for a day at work tomorrow and if I am lucky I can finish this Granny Square this weekend.

What are you up to?

  1. Oj, blir avundsjuk på alla fina bilder! Bor alldeles för långt från medelhavet. Härligt med kompisbesök! Dina foton på fönsterluckorna var jättefina.

  3. Me am envy of your holiday! The south of France is very beautiful and also the Mediterranean ... I hope you enjoy the sea and so precious that you bring you many good memories ... indeed, the case of products that you go buy the other day: Do you think that is cheap but for the salaries that we have in southern Europe is not cheap ... it happens to me when I traveled to Africa and everything seems cheap but for the people living there is not nothing. Travelling makes you see things so different ... is great! Happy holidays!
    Beautiful colors ...

I've just made a granny trivet to go with a new plate and mug. Isn't creating fun?!
I shall look forward to seeing your Granny Stool tutorial! I've got a rather ugly round stool to cover - and I have to work out how to do the drop edging!
