Daisy Square Scarf VOILA with tutorial

This last week have been a very special week. I made an exhibition at work to sell some of my creations and are happily surprised about how much I have sold. I have also been busy having a 24-hour get away with my husband hanging out in the Gstaad mountains, dining out, having massage, drinking coffee, reading magazines and being stunned by the beauty around. Just the two of us. It was fantastic! :D

And then guess what? I WON! I WON! I WON! I WON! I really can't believe it but I actually won the Give Away over at Crejjtion!!! A gorgeous set of Winter Postcards from Maaike's own collection of postcards that she has made. This is the first time I have ever won a Give Away, and that it is at Crejjtion's makes it so... so extra special!!! Scrolling down her "Winner" post without ANY expections at all just to find MY NAME there. WOW! I am so happy and excited!

The last few days have been pure happiness for me. So, this is why I haven't been around so much this week.

But lets talk about Daisy Squares. It has been a while since I made some daisy squares, but a few weeks ago I picked up old scraps of left over yarn and started to hook away. Maybe you remember when I wrote about my Daisy Square play? I wasn't sure of what I was making... a pillow? A stool cover? A scarf? Well, a scarf it is.

How to make the Daisy Square Scarf:
This was a really satisfying project. Quick and fun as I mixed colors depending on what was available in my left over stash. I used wool and wool acrylic mix yarn on a 4 mm hook. To make the Daisy Square follow my Daisy Square Tutorial you can find here. It is the same that was used to make my Daisy Square Pillow.

I choose a white yarn to join all 14 squares, using Attic 24's join as you go method. I then simply edged the scarf with grey yarn starting with one row of granny clusters, using Bunny Mummy's tutorial on how to make a flat border, then I made a row of trebles, with 5 of them in the corners, and finally a row of half trebles (U.K) with 6 of them in the corners. I should have blocked this scarf but was to eager to start wearing it... I do advice you to block it though as it tend to roll up a little bit on the long edges.

The cherry on the top are some tassels that I attached at each end. Simple and cheerful and a bloody color bomb it is. You should really make one for yourself if you have the time.
