This weekend I cleaned out the shed, put away all the bicycles, swept up all the leaves from my Wisteria in front of the house. I looked at the cows and they stared back at me. I took down the swings from the apple tree and ripped out the Dahlia plant. I need winter flowers. My house looks all naked and cold.
I've been longing to make something different than pillows. To CREATE and feel the buzz of MAKING something new. Piecing strips together from my white and red scrap basket has been very therapeutic. It is very Christmassy, my new table runner of the year, and I am sure it will be bringing just as much Christmas spirit as my old one has done through the years.
Yes, I am planning Christmas full on by now. How about you? Are you getting sucked into the Christmas spirit already or are you holding off until the first of advent? Christmas is by far my favorite holiday of the year. I just can't wait until I can start to play Michael Buble's Christmas CD, decorate with stars in the windows and pine tree branches. Hearts. Red. White. Green. What does your Christmas look like? Is traditional or modern. Or kitschy and eclectic? I love love love this time of the year.
Kärlek
Annette
PS Stay tuned... I am preparing a Give Away...
Added info of today: My table runner is NOT ready yet... This is only the front patchwork of it, a WiP... I still have to quilt it and bind it so... I'll show you the backing and binding soon. :D
Muito lindo!E com o fundo verde, ficou maravilhoso! beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteOh, it will be very nice table runner!!! Lovely fabrics!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, I love this part of the year too :-) I try to check our Christmas decorations, I prepare some fabrics for pillow and bunting... but we will decorate our home at the 1st of December :-) ... some angels and candles are on the shelf. Yes, I am thinking about Christmas all the time :-) Have a lovely time, Jolana
I plan on making a trip up in the attic today to drag down all the Christmas decorations. That's always a workout... :-) I love Christmas and can't wait to decorate for it this weekend.
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! What did you use for the backing? (cuz I'm the type who turns things over... just to look *lol!*)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Christmas! The tree will go up at my house either on Friday or Saturday. I've had Christmas music on Pandora for over a week now (while I'm crocheting my latest blanket). I have put up my holiday wreaths outside tho (much to the grumbling of my oldest daughter - 'It's not even THANKSGIVING yet!' *grin*
It is so eyecatching. Beautiful poetry in stitches.
ReplyDeleteI love attention to detail and your blog is a feast for the eyes. I'm off to become your most recent follower.
Warmest wishes from France,
Stephanie
ps Yes, Christmas is in the air. I'm so, so busy.
Loving the red! I think that's a CD I need to get too! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous table runner. And created from left overs. My favorite type of creation! :0)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited about Christmas. I can hardly stand it. I will take our tree down tomorrow and decorate. Yay! :0)
Love your table runner!
ReplyDeleteI'm not into Christmas yet...we have another holiday here in Holland first on the 5th of December...so all the preparations go to that ;-)
Lovely table runner!
ReplyDeleteI'n not preparing for Christmas yet, because we have another holiday first, on the 5th of December. It's a Dutch Holdiay called Saint Nicholas. Prestns have to be bought, poems to be written and there's some crafting involved too. so no time for Christmas just yet ;-)
Hi Annette! I also love Christmas! I'm preparing decorated with crochet work. I want to participate in the Giveaway, I'm intrigued! Thanks for sharing! I wish you Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteI guess our family tree is pretty traditional. Red and gold baubles..... wooden stars.....the angel at the top of the tree. I love your runner. It is so christmassy and ...well, red and white. Nice piece of work.
Ilona
It sure is looking gorgeous so far. Love the red.
ReplyDeletehugs to you,
Meredith
I've got Michael Buble's Christmas CD too..and I'm keen on red and white this year for Christmas! Your new table runner will be gorgeous. This Christmas there are a few of us getting into the Christmas spirit already..I don't normally at this time of year..but this year something is different..I don't know why!
ReplyDeleteEn så fin löpare. Passar lika bra på julbordet som till sommaren.
ReplyDeleteJag gillar också julen men tycker att det startas alldeles för tidigt med julskyltning och allt julpynt i affärerna. T.o.m. NK har avtäckt sina skyltfönster redan. Man hinner ju ledsna innan julen är här.
Hemma hos oss julpyntar vi inte förrän veckan före jul - förutom adventsstakar och -stjärna i fönstren.
Kram
This year I hve also been loving red and whites! x
