Happiness at seven

Emmy Bo came home from a birthday party overly excited. Not because of all the fun she had or all the treats and cakes she indulged in. Not because of the colorful balloons or the fabulous setting she had been in. No, she was overly excited by her "Thank You" sweet bag, or in this case it was a cute paper box, filled with not just all sorts of candy but also some mini cocktail umbrellas and mini marshmallows in the cutest pastels.

"Look Mama! These are PERFECT for my Pet Shops. Now they can grill their own marshmallows and have their own beach umbrellas!".

Yes, now the Littlest Pet Shops can have their own marshmallow party on the beach aka the window sill. Quickly my flowers were moved out of the way, a granny stool dragged out together with a complete Sylvanian Family dining set, a stripy classy beach chair and of course - pink plastic cats with big eyes. Let the imaginary game commence.

Happiness at seven can be as simple as a couple of cocktail umbrellas and a handful of mini marshmallows. I wish that it was just as easy at age 45. Pure bliss for me is to see her play so well as a contrast to the, in my opinion, addictive and excessive virtual game play that normally takes place since iPad, iPhone and Minecraft entered our home. This is fresh, like Will I Am would say. :)

  1. How lucky that she still can play this way. That she can be exited by these small things. ....... I never ever saw such small marshmallows!!!!!

  2. Dear Annette,
I'm a stubborn girl, so once more I'm going to try leaving a comment on yet another post on your beautiful blog that has touched me ....... The last one was the one where you told the world about your - not totally free-willed - need/wish to change and somehow this one also got lost in space ...... Of course I too wanted to tell you how sorry I was for you, but also how I admired you for your resilience in immediately trying to turn this whole situation around into something new and exciting: expanding your (and our) beloved "My Rose Valley". You go girl - the world has big plans for you, I'm convinced of that. And your sweet little Emmy Bo ...... how wonderful and delightful - thanks for sharing with us! Love, Marianne
