Well, so what has been going on around here? A lot! I have so much to share but I will have to take it one thing at a time. I'm settling in to my unemployed lifestyle which is fitting in perfectly with the hectic last few weeks of school with all the school shows, sports games, excursions and special events going on.
I am still on crochet restriction which also means computer/mouse/keyboard/iPhone/tablet restriction... Not so fun, right? I don't scream for ice cream - I scream for all the things I'm restricted from!!! And most of all I scream for my hook and yarn! Well, it is what it is and I am playing it cool. I rather stay away now and recover, than have to stay away for a loooong time later. I have to play my cards right...
To distract myself I decided to figure out a color palate for my studio and started playing around with things I like. Creating a mood board. It started out fairly nice but soon got waaaaay out of control. No matter how hard I try to stick to a theme I seem to loose my balance and just wanting it all in the end. Pastels and brights. Traditional and exotic. Romantic and bold. Well, maybe I should get a rag rug wallpaper... I seem to be a rag rug girl. Little bit of this and a little bit of that, moving with my mood; happy in brights one day, cool in blues another... It is what it is. I can't force myself to be something I'm not. I am a bit of a rag rug girl.
So, decisions, decisions... Pistachio or granny powder pink??? Or maybe mustard... I might just go with delicate light blue... Or bold aqua green... Who knows what mood I will be in when I hit the hardware store.
Kärlek

because you are an inspiration to me and many others.
And when I saw what you had done to lengthen pants your precious daughter,
I did not hesitate a moment, I would too!

Thanks! And kisses from Catalonia!
So many choices!! It will be beautiful when it is done I am sure. xx
ReplyDeleteI can relate to that 'rag rug' girl.lol I never have good luck with too much pink about it seems to take over the light in the room, but good luck with it all!
ReplyDeleteI think I'm a rag rug kinda girl too! I know just what you mean, I can never settle on one type of thing either. Let's just say we're eclectic shall we?

PS I think Bloggers having a fit and not accepting comments... :(
So glad to hear you're enjoying your time, you have such a supportive community here! :-) I totally agree with the difficulty of choosing a set colour, because all our moods change! Maybe that's why I stick to neutral paints then embellish with colourful accessories...you could just have a big cork board on a white wall and hang a length of pretty fabric each week! Chrissie x
ReplyDeleteThat is a wonderful name, rag rug girl, I am sure that it applies to me, at least part of the time. Some days I can focus and zoom in on a group of colours/patterns/shapes with no hesitation, another day I dither and prevaricate. Those are the days that scrappy/crazy sewing takes over or i give up and reach for a book. Whatever it is called I just go with the flow. I empathize with your restrictions, it is not easy when your fingers and mind ache to create. Fingers crossed that it will not be too long before you can enjoy your crafting agai.
ReplyDeleteOh now I'm torn, I love the pretty pastels of your first mood board, but then oh my...... the second one Tilda, Liberty of London and mustard walls........my pale sage green walls in mine seem very boring now!! Thanks again for taking part in the blog hop, I'm so looking forward to reading your post! Sarah xo
