It is as good as new! I saved my Gypsy Granny Square Crochet Blanket. You can read about it here, how I discovered a tragic hole in my dear granny square blanket. After reading all your tips and advice, this is how I fixed it. Thank you so much for all your help and I am hoping this tutorial will help someone else as well one day. From now on I feel more confident that crochet blankets can last for a life time. The pattern for the Gypsy Blanket can be purchased here.

I'm glad to see you repaired your blanket without problems! Thanks for making this tutorial for us. :-)
ReplyDeleteA nice save! I have many family pieces of crochet work and have to make repairs occasionally, but with whatever yarn/thread that closest matches. So nice to have some yarn in your stash to match.Happy hooking!
ReplyDeleteLovely job :) I recently repaired a friends granny square blanket. One of the squares had unravelled from the centre out ! Quite tricky surgery that one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the information - I have a blanket that needs fixing :) Like your blog :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for this. It gave me the confidence to fix a hole in a blanket I was making. I must have cut an end off to close to the square. It was easier than I thought to repair it.
