Lac Léman, also known as Lake Geneva. Without the lake it would be weird living here. I have always lived close to a coast. Close to an ocean. It gives me a sense of freedom to live close to big waters and endless horizons. To me, living in the middle of Europe is almost claustrophobic. But with the Geneva lake and the majestic Alps so close, I still feel free as a bird. I think it is the openness that a big lake like Lac Léman offers that makes me feel like I'm still on the coast. The lake tricks mz mind and I think I'm close to the Atlantic Sea. It is a great feeling. I'm not sure I could live without that sensation.
Today we had a wonderful day on the beach. It was weather perfect. This country is so incredibly beautiful... I never sees to be impressed by it. The rolling hills, the medieval vineyards, the wild flowers, the blue bird skies. The cows, the feeling of innocence and natural freedom. Simplicity. Switzerland is quite a remarkable place to live.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful family and scenery.
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to live in such a beautiful country. I agree with you, living by water is an essential. We live on the coast by the Irish Sea and I love the space and peacefulness of it all.

I visited Geneva when I was about 12 with my family and always remember it fondly. It looks perfect from here too. Jo x
