NEW PATTERN: The Nordic Hat

Nordic Hat Pattern by Annette MB Ciccarelli - available now in My Rose Valley Shop.
Today is the day to finally release my Nordic Hat pattern. YES!!! I've made half a dozen in different color themes already. I will make many more. I sold 3 hats at my Crochet Event last Saturday, and I have another market event coming up mid October. I think I will make some bright color themes. Pinks, purples, lime... Real color bombs for cute kids.

This is a classy and timeless crochet hat/crochet bonnet/ski hat for chilly days, made in a design
inspired by Scandinavian folk art and Fair Isle motives.
It is a fun and satisfying pattern, suitable for any level crocheter who has the basic skills.
This pattern is a perfect match to the Nordic Wrist Warmers and the Nordic Shawl pattern.

I have used different yarns making my test hats. The blue hat is made with Ideal (Sports weight/5ply) from Bergere de France (find it here) and I love the stitch definition in that one. Then I made the cream colored Nordic Hat in a DK merino wool and it is super smooth. The green and the beige Nordic Hats are made in a Superwash 100% wool yarn called Ulrika from Svarta Fåret. It is a light worsted weight yarn and super soft. Perfect for a hat. It is a bit more chunky in the mixed stitches part but it is super comfortable to wear. My favorite choice so far.

The Ulrika yarn will soon be available in my Yarn Shop and I will put together special Nordic Hat kits and list them in my Etsy shop. I hope to have my kits ready pretty soon and then I will shout out a Give Away for you!!!

The Instant download PDF pattern is now available in my Etsy Shop. Hope you will like it. And thank you for your patience. Thank you for your loyalty. Thank you for hanging around and making my world more colorful and full of yarny happiness. Wouldn't want to live without it.

  2. Very pretty. Oooooh I love the blue one, and the cream one! After making your mittens in yellow last year, as a gift, I want to make my own this year but just didn't get to it. So now I must sit down and PLAN to do it.

  5. Beautiful Hat. Do you think it would be easy to adapt the pattern to DK yarn?

    2. Hi Dani
Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. That is correct. It is a pattern which work with both a 5ply, 8 ply and 10 ply. Good luck. I'm sure it will be fine. And thank you for shopping one of my patterns. Hope you will enjoy it. :)
