Technology rocks and technology sucks!

I love technology. When it works. I hate technology, when it doesn't. Right now I hate technology because my computer is a pain. It is slow. It crashes. And my iPhoto library is a disaster. I lost photos, managed to save them from my external hard drive but now the bloody editing features doesn't work.

I so wish I was a computer geek, understanding the zeros and ones, but I'm not. I'm just a user. I want my stuff to work. Flawlessly. But, right now I can't edit my photos. Right now I get phone calls and chats from all kids in the family on my phone because of some silly iCloud Family Sharing... And I just can't figure out how to fix it! Right now I can't launch my new website even if it is close to finished, because it is not synced to a  mobile phone view!!!

It drives me bonkers. It takes so much time. And I want to do other things than spending support hours on my computer, like crochet time!!! It is important.

I have to figure it out. Or hire a geek of some kind to fix it all for me. Although I just had my computer re-installed and cleaned out a month ago. I just don't get it. Do you also get tech frustrated? How do you deal with it?

The light

Thank you dear Easter morning for the light that is streaming into my bedroom through my cotton curtains. Thank you dear light for nurturing my geraniums at the living room windows. Thank you to this beautiful day already, which the cats can't wait to enter in the wild. It makes all the difference in the world with some light.

Easter Friday with happy cats

Easter Friday is here and the weather is really grey and cold. We have had cold strong winds for a few days now and spring feels like very far away. We are having somewhat a lazy day. Just walking around in PJs, doing our own things. I have decided to tackle my office and studio. Again. Making a bit of a make over. Again. I always seem to start but never finish. Maybe this time I'm lucky enough to get it done.

I thought I would share some cat updates with you, as many of you have shared your concerns and worries about Izzy regarding the complications after her sterilizing surgery. First of all, THANK YOU for your sweet support. Our cats really hit a soft spot, I can tell form all the messages. We have been incredibly worried and going back and forth to the vet multiple times these last weeks.

It showed that Izzy had torn the membrane open inside her stomach (apparently the vet cuts through skin, fat and a membrane when doing the procedure - 3 different layers that needs to be stitched together after)while chasing the neighbors cat across our garden a couple of days after surgery. The vet had to open her up once more to empty out fat that had leaked in and stitch her up once more. She looks like Frankenstein on her shaved belly, but she is on the mend. Watching her play with her sister Maya in the garden beds outside is pure joy. It is for sure their favorite game for the moment. Hiding, spying, attacking and fighting! Rolling around in the dirt.

Because of all the cat drama we have had lately, we have now discovered a new favorite show on TV as well - The Supervet! Emmy Bo is particularly hooked on the show and watches it every night before going to bed and I have to say it is quite amazing what vets can do nowadays. Our pets are so precious to us and deserve to be treated with great sensitivity and professionalism just like us humans, and that is what this Supervet does. He is bloody amazing!

Anyway, Easter has kind of sneaked up on me and I'm not prepared. We might get some egg painting in and an Easter Egg hunt for the kids but the decorating and all has been neglected this year. Oh well. It is what it is. Kids are happy to be out of school and we are all looking forward to lazy days and 2 weeks of vacation.

Happy Easter everyone. Enjoy! And I hope you can squeeze in some crochet time. I will. And I will try and blog a little bit as well. This space has been a bit neglected lately. Speak soon my lovelies.

Tilda Yarn Packs & lower prices!!!

Hi my lovlies. It's a sunny day today and I will spend it outside in the garden with my Tilda yarn and new baked muffins. It is a beautiful day and I have some great news for you as well.

My escape to the mountains was a very productive one and although I didn't fully finish my online shop, I'm nearly there. In the meanwhile, waiting for the big launch of Scandinavain Homespun Shop, I have listed some colorful Tilda Yarn Packs in my Etsy shop.

There is the fabulous Large Spring Mix with all those colors that makes us spring happy. I see a divine colorful stripy baby blanket or a bunch of granny squares put together for a pillow in front of my eyes.

There is the cute Little Pink & Aqua Mix, perfect for Easter decorations, Potholders and Flower makings or cute little Baby items.

I also put together The Little Vintage Mix which is one of my own favorite color mixes, the chalky colors speaks right to me and they awaken lots of projects in my mind such as Maybelle Garlands, Baby Blankets, Coasters, Doilies and Mandalas.

And here comes the best news of all:

TILDA YARN NOW 3.90 USD per ball!!!

Thanks to the larger stock I can now afford to drop the price more than 20%, and make the wonderful Tilda Yarn even more accessible for everyone at only 3.90 USD per ball. Isn't that great? If you would like to place an individual order, please visit my Yarn Shop page and email me with your wishes.

So, lets go and play, shall we? With some Tilda yarn. I'm on it. Are you?

Escaping...

I have escaped to the mountains. Left my children and man behind in the everyday chaos. I packed my computer, my camera and photo shoot equipment. My Tilda yarn, some pattern projects and cozy pants and socks. I also packed a swimsuit. Just in case I actually need to take a break and stretch out my body a little bit.

I've come here to work. Without distraction. You see, I find it hard to work from home. Even if I have a studio, it is open for the public family, including cats. It's a highway for the downstairs toilet... And that toilet is visited often. I can close the door, but still all those house chores behind that door seem to call out for me. "Wash me! Fold me! Clean me! Pick me up! Tidy me!" Constantly.

So here I am. I had butterflies in my belly when leaving last night. I wasn't sure how it would be. Will I get anything done or totally freeze up by the fact that I'm all alone? Because as a 24/7 mother, first of all, it feels weird to leave all the responsibilities behind and do something important for myself. But I need this. This is the only way.

I'm building an online shop. I'm excited. The graphic designer in me is awakened. I'm loving it. I'm learning a new software. It is taking time. I've been fiddling at home for a couple of weeks now and finally I'm finding a platform that I like. So now it needs to take form. Heads down and hard work is the best way. No distraction.

I had planned to watch a movie, fire up the fireplace and cuddle up last night. Make a plan for what I need to accomplish during my 48 hours away. But the minute I plugged in the computer all those plans were forgotten and I threw myself straight into work. 5 hours later I checked the clock... 2.00am, really???

Time flies when being creative. Time flies when having fun. Time flies when growing knowledge. Time flies when loving what you do. I'm on it. I can do this! But most of all, I want to do this. For me and My Rose Valley. And for everyone who visits my happy place in Cyber world.

A crafty meeting in the Alps

A table from a crafty meet up where knitting needles, crochet hooks, yarn and chitter chatter had the center of attention. Nothing beats to meet up with like minded people who just "gets it" if you know what I mean. We talk yarn, we talk Instagram, we talk patterns, we talk blogging, we talk crafty tools and we oh and ah over fabulous creations and share our makes with each other. We laugh. We enjoy delicious food (Thank you so much Julie!!!) and we drink a large amount of tea and water... We are snuggled up on sofas with needles in hands, but to be honest we don't get much work done. We just chat, and chat, and chat, and chat, and chat... Until we suddenly realize I need to go. And once again I think one day is not enough. I need a week of this. Or at least three days. Crafty get-togethers are the best.

Big thank you for a wonderful time @winterbeachbymab, Made With Loops, Julie and Jackie. Until next time - Au Revoir!
