Inspiration & admiration
Well, isn't blog world fantastic or what? I love browsing, clicking from one blog to another... I get so so SO inspired. I learn. I explore. I admire.
I have found some new (and old) inspiring blogs I want to share with you. Like Red Pepper Quilts. She makes the most wonderful quilts. She is obviously a professional with her own sponsors, patterns, etsy shop and stuff (lucky girl!!!) and needless to say she is a huge inspiration to visit. She has a great tutorial for machine binding quilts in an alternative way that is worth a try and oooh so many colorful pictures of fabric bundles, WiP's and finished quilts.
Like this one. Isn't it so so pretty? I am actually making a quilt with these stripy squares right now. My secret project.
This quilt pattern is excellent for using up scraps I believe.
And this one is another Red Pepper Quilts favorite. I am first of all a crochetoholic and this quilt reminds me of the traditional granny square I just love to crochet. Isn't this just so clever how she uses striped fabric and makes it look like a bunch of granny squares? I L O V E this one. And I just have to mention, Red Pepper Quilts has not less than 1700 + followers... Yes, 1700!!! How on earth do you manage to keep up with that, I wonder.
Here we got another great source of inspiration. My old time favorite Rosehip. The way she mixes colours and prints is amazing. I love everything Rosehip. And she has done it again. Blown me away. Just look at this beautiful quilt made from felted wool sweaters (here we go recycling again - I LOVE IT!) in all different kind of colours. Isn't it just stunning? All old ugly wool sweaters at the thrift store has suddenly become very interesting to me. One day I will make my own recycled wool sweater quilt.
And then this girl, Sweet Jessie. Eye candy for anyone who adores pastell colours, vintage and anything sugary sweet. I love her vintage sheet collection (who wouldn't do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to get their hands on this collection???) and the things she makes out of these nostalgic vintage prints.
Look at that dresser.
And look at those pillows. Aren't they just to die for? Sweet Jessie is pure fun to visit.
What a great school the blog world can be. All the things I have learned these last 16 months that I have been blogging. Wow. No school can teach me as much as all you fellow bloggers can. I admire you all, deeply.

I am touching it!
It is here! It is here. Happy birthday to me! I am now officially touching the Anna Maria Horner fabric that I bought from Fabricworm.
Ohhh so gorgeous, luuuvely, pretty, colorful, yummy, inspiring... Ahhh. I should probably mention that what you see here is a mix of Anna MAria Horners fabric and other complementary fabrics I bought, all the polka dots.
My favorite is this one.
And this one.
And this one... I could go on and put up pictures of them all so I will stop right there.
At the same time I got this lot of fabric. It is for a secret project. And I have already started on it. Mixing in some of my vintage sheets.
And a lot of other things are going on around here but unfortunately I haven't been able to take pictures yet. Got to wait until Wednesday when I can take pictures in bright daylight. Just hate the quality of the pics when i use the flash... Don't you.
We used fabric markers, I ironed on the wrong side of the T-shirts afterwards and now it is all set for machine washing in warm wash. I very much recommend this crafty project. Now they wear their T-shirts at gymnastics in school and have turned into some type of "girl power" unit. Ha ha ha!
Chat soon again.

Last thing to share today are these pictures. Nelly (2nd from left) and her friends decorated T-shirts on her sleep over party. Ain't that great? The result really reflects on the different personalities. They loved it.
Chat soon again.

Vintage sheet happy - meet Rose Marie!
I am vintage sheet happy today! This is what I made. In a swisch! A vintage sheet patchwork pillow. Meet Rose Marie! That is her name.
I have a bunch of boring, stained and dirty white pillows in my sofa. And look how much this fresh, crispy, rosy pillow brightens everything up!
Totally brain dead simple. Made from nine 6 inch squares, quilted together with a plain white sheet of fabric (recycled from an old pillow case here at home :D I love recycling!) with straight lines along the seams.
I made an envelope backing (more recycled frabric from that old pillow case of mine - yeay!) and it was so easy, so perfect, so quickly made.
Aaahhh. I love this pillow so much - it makes my childhood happy! Although most of these fabrics are from the States, they do remind me of early 70's in Sweden. Special summers (in Dalarna) with V- jeans walking around on fields covered in high grown grass. Summer flowers in my hair and blue bird skies. Riding my bicycle everywhere. Life was so simple, easy and wonderful. Aaaahhh.
Of course I just HAVE TO make more of these pillows. More to come, be so sure.
Ciao!
PS I like it A LOT when I quilt the patchwork without any batting actually. It falls very nice and feels just heavy enough... Might be something I will do for abread spread, bed throw that should be... (I am Swedish and sometimes very blond and therefor I am excused to make major mistakes expressing myself, like the above bread spread. Ha ha ha!)
