So another baby quilt is finished. It is a joyful recycle project, almost all fabrics found in markets and thrifts stores. I call it My Scrappy Baby Quilt.
This quilt contains of old aprons, shirts, bed linen, baby girl dresses, napkins. The only new print is... Can you guess which one? I'll tell you in my next post...
It is backed with soft fleece. When backing with fleece the quilt gets really soft and cuddly. It is a bit challenging to work with fleece though as fleece stretches a bit... My only problem now is I don't have any baby to give this blanket to... Sooner or later I guess someone will have a baby that I can give this to. I wish I had made it bigger. It would have been perfect for my Luca... I guess I have to make another one with the same type of prints. :D

This is simple and lovely, my favorite kind of quilt. I've been collecting fabrics here and there to attempt something similar to this. It's so sweet. Have a nice weekend :-)
ReplyDeleteThis looks so cool! :) Simple and elegant. And the fleece makes it perfect :)
ReplyDeleteAs to guess which fabric is the new one, I'd say... the red with the white flowers on it.
Very cute!

ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful, I would love to have a go at something like this, I'm wondering, did you quilt it or just stitch around the edge?

ReplyDeleteKaren :)
I just found your blog via meme rose, your new baby blanket caught my eye, it's just lovely. I love the mix of colours and patterns. Destined for a very lucky baby.
ReplyDeleteAnnette, I love the way you do your quilts - it really has an old world feel.
ReplyDeleteI've been saving up on old Tshirts of my boy to make him a quilt as well, since his baby days up to last year of preschool, plus pieces of curtain from his bedroom, his cot sheets, dad's shirt etc. Planned to back it with denim, but I actually like your way more. I'll scrub around on your blog to see if can I can figure out more clearly exactly how you do it.
so lovely! did you use batting, or just the top and the fleece?
