Today I moderated all your comments with one click!!!! Yay! This just shows how good the silly, not liked and annoying Word Verification actually works. From receiving at least 30-40 spams a day with links to penis enlargement, drop 20 pounds in 24 hours, maximize your boobs, fix my truck, cats r us or anything else annoying down to a good ZERO. I am happy.
I know you are not so happy though. I hate the Word Verification too. Sandra from Cherry Heart gave a good tips that I will try out. And if that doesn't work out I might follow Mammka's advice and stop allowing Anonymous comments. And maybe it will soon be smooth as butter to say Hi over here at my place. In a second. In a whim. While baby is screaming on your hip or the dog is harassing you to go out for a leak. Simplicity rules and I am trying to make my blog space as simple and user friendly as possible. Thanks for popping in and taking your time figuring out those weird-looking letters and numbers...
Kärlek
Annette
Please don't stop anonymous comments! It's the only way I can respond to many blogs and there are many I can't and I would love to, being someone that likes to comment when people have taken the time to write, it's really horrible when I can't. I often want to but have been disqualified from doing so if there is no anonymous option which doesn't feel very nice. I tried having a google account but I was being tracked everywhere I went and I just couldn't bear it. I love your blog. I would be so sad if I couldn't tell you anymore

I don't mind the verifier - the more you mess it up the easier it becomes! Sometimes it is tricky but if it saves you from all those awful spam emails then so be it, because that must be awful.
Thank you for your message. I will do my best to avoid taking away the Anonymous option. I do get quite a few Anonymous comments from dear and loyal readers like you :) (Miss Mysterious or Mr... :D) and I love receiving them. I am hoping to find a better solution and for now Word Verification will be the option until something more handy comes my way.
DeleteHave a lovely evening and thank you for taking your time to write.
Annette
I agree that word verification is a pest, Annette. Sometimes I find it very difficult to understand and have to try it out more than once which is time-consuming and frustrating. After three times I give up! The numbers are virtually impossible to read, so I just put the writing. I hope this works!
ReplyDeleteGood luck, looks like there's quite a few bloggers now suffering from spam attacks.
ReplyDeleteI loathe word verification on blogs. When you follow and comment on lots of blogs, having to type out those illegible words can be very off putting for commentators. Most pro blogger advocate that you remove both word verification and anonymous comments.
ReplyDeleteOn my blog, I don't have a word capture, all you have to do is to tick a box to prove you're not a 'bot'. It is, however, a self hosted Wordpress blog and has a powerful anti spam module called Akismet which is brilliant. Unfortunately, with Blogger blogs, they are more prone to hacking :(
PS Your anonymous commentator could always use the name/url option to leave their details. Not too sure why he/she doesn't do that already.
ReplyDeleteHi Annette,
ReplyDeleteWhen I see the word verification my heart drinks ! But in the end I leave the comment and even if I dont get those weird words right then I try again. . . but it they still dont work, then I just sadly and frustrated leave and dont comment. However that has not happened to me as yet.
In my blog I had to remove anonymous comments as I was getting too many spams all of a sudden. And this is the only way I found to avoid spammers which are so annoying.
If you find a better solution please do share it with us, as I'm sure lots of us have the same problem.
xEva
I don't mind at all...Only times I find it irritating is when I try to reply via phone.
ReplyDeleteYou have a lovely blog! And I guess that makes you angry do not stop entering unwanted comments. I hope that these comments do not make you close the blog ...? It is thruth that I will would miss you!
ReplyDeleteI also see a model when the house is tidy, wool, linen ... with children is very difficult to see tidy home, right?
The photos are spectacular snow. Your children are beautiful and grow much!
A big hug from Catalonia!
With Word Verification I find I am not able to comment on blogs using my iPhone or iPad. The words are either too small to read or, as is usual, the words I type are just not accepted. So, I have to wait until I am on my desktop computer, by which time I have often forgotten which blog I wanted to comment on.
ReplyDeleteI honestly do not mind the word verification thingy. And if it makes your life easier, then use it!
ReplyDeleteannette,I love your blog ,although I don't leave much comment but whenever I start my laptop you're the first or maybe the second blog which i go to see.please please don't make it hard for me to reach your blog ( in here we have so much difficulties to enter the syber world,we have to use proxy &...to connect to outside world .thanks for your understanding .much love from IRAN.zohreh
ReplyDeleteHi, I've popped the moderation thingy on mine, it doesn't stop the weirdos but at least for my eyes only! The word thingy just makes it harder for people to post comments! :) x
ReplyDeleteI want to say Thank you for your blog and for your honest posts!! I am new to blogland and it is wonderful blogs like yours that gave me the courage to start my own blog. If you have time and would like to stop by I would be thrilled!! http://staceykokot.blogspot.ca/ As for the word verification I think we are all getting used to it. Take care and have a wonderful day!
