Well, THANK YOU! This is what I've missed. The interaction. The connection. The discussion in the comment field. Not that necessary all of you agree with me, but the fact that we're talking about things. I'm so happy. Thank you so much for confirming I'm not alone in feeling crochet has turned into a Formula 1 race. Thank you for still hanging around even if I will part from you soon.
Seriously. After announcing me stopping to blog, I feel lighter at heart. I'm sad to let go, of course, but I need to take a break. It is like a heavy weight has lifted from my shoulders. Someone said I don't have to explain myself or justify my decision, and it is true. But I do want to. Because I truly believe I will be back one day. Maybe in a different way, but somehow. I can feel myself getting nourished with creativity and inspiration already after letting it all go and bringing it all up to the surface. Talking about it. So THANK YOU!
It is a rainy morning over here and I am packing my bag to go to Sweden for a few days. I'm going to organize the house for the summer. We will have visitors from the US and I need to get a bed sofa and arrange sleeping for everyone, and instead of arriving in an unprepared house I am know luxury flying there to set it all up. It is my big treat of the year I would say.
We had plans before, to extend. Big building plans. But they fell through. It got too expensive. Too complicated. So we will keep it small. I will focus on doing a make over of one room a year to make our summer house as comfortable and personal as possible. This year I will focus on the living room. Last year it was the veranda. Oh my, I can't wait to sit on that veranda again. My favorite place.
My initial plans included painting the living room, buying a sofa bed, decorating, plant flowers... But to be honest, I only have 2 full days so I should be happy if I can find a bed sofa second hand... Time will tell how much I will get done.
I'm so looking forward to this trip. My Dad and two of my brothers will be there with their small kiddos. I can feel the love already. I love my family. So much. I love my summer house. So much.
See you later this week. Hope you will have a really creative week with lots of crochet - crocheting in your own pace.

PS 2: I haven't had time to respond to all your comments in my previous post, but I will get to it when I get back. I like the discussion. :)
Kärlek

I think of you each time I wear my Nordic shawl or continue work on my Gypsy Blanket. My wrists won't tolerate marathon crochet work, but I so enjoy the work when I can. Thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a lovely couple of days Annette. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteYour summer house in Sweden looks wonderful... wish I had a similar place to go stay in the summer... and I see Carl Larsson pictures on a wall... I love his work so much... best wishes for your trip and for your summer days with family in Sweden. ~Jan C.~

ReplyDeleteHope your visit is filled with happy memories!
I have just discovered your blog via your "Vintage Hanger" pattern on AllFreeCrochet.com! Took me back as my grandmother use to make them when I was a child, still have a few left! (She has been gone nearly thirty years now.)
Good luck and enjoy!x
ReplyDeleteI would like to wish you good luck in what ever direction you will go from here.
ReplyDeleteI will miss your blog, and I will miss your Swedish house, and its progress very much :-)
xx
You love your sommerhouse, you say. I think I love it too.
ReplyDeleteAnnette, I have so enjoyed visiting your world. We have just been to Sweden so any posts about Swedish traditions have appealed to me. My grandmother was born in Switzerland, so that has been another tie. And, because of your post about your trip across Lac Lemon to the little French village, we have planned a visit there in September, complete with a stay at the hotel right by the lake. Thanks for the inspiration you have given me.

I don't think I would ever leave this veranda, it is a dream! I have dreams of Swedish summer cottages actually. My experience of the Swedish summer cottage is entirely based on literature, from childhood through to now... One day I am going to rent one for a few weeks. I hope you can find the sofa bed you are looking for. The painting can wait! Have a fun time with your brothers and dad, and all the children. x
