How to make the Maybelle Baby Blanket Border & Edging

Welcome to the tutorial of How To make the Maybelle Baby Blanket Border & Edging. When I designed this blanket, I wanted it to be gender neutral and therefor I used a quite simple border and edging. I will share the border in simple instruction together with a few pictures. I have used Tilda yarn colour 507 - Chalk Beige for the base of the border with accent colours Red Berry Pink- 063, Dusty Blue - 066 and Baby Blue - 572. The final edging row is made with Tilda Cream - 005. For full information on material used, techniques etc, please visit The Maybelle Baby Blanket Pattern.

This tutorial is a part of the Maybelle Blanket Pattern and you can find the other tutorials here:

  4. If I wanted to do fewer rounds of the border, would the pattern for the edging still come out right?

    1. Hi
I'm sure it will work out just fine, and if you bump into the problem of it being an uneven number for your edging, just tweak the amount of chains in between the "picots", making just a dc instead of dc2tog, one or two times. It should do the trick and no one will know. That is the charm with crochet. A very forgiving artisan craft. Good luck!
