The greatest walk

Hi ladies. Sorry I haven't been the best cheer leader this week, I hope you have done well anyway. I have done FANTASTIC! I am so proud, so happy and so so so... Just jolly happy! For the first time I can feel that this walking thing is becoming a habit. A GOOD habit. I am longing for my walks. I am finding new ways of enjoying my walks. Trying my best to not get into a boring route and dragging getting out there. I am not only getting my heart rate going and my legs moving but my brain is using the innovative program as well coming up with new ideas every other day.

I think my big break through building this healthy habit was last week when I dropped off Luca Bo at his weekly "play doctor" appointment. I had planned to go to IKEA to buy a new Billy book shelf for my creative corner. But when opening the car door getting ready to get in I looked up at the blue sky, felt the sun on my cheeks and decided that IKEA can wait. "Lets go exploring this little village Aubonne while Luca Bo is doing his session." It was a great 45 minute walk. I discovered the most gorgeous little dead end streets, hidden small town houses, beautiful gardens and narrow walking paths with stairs and surprising discoveries around the corners. It felt effortless as there was so much to see.

In Spain with Jay, I ended up walking around the track every day which also was a new experience, stopping every now and then when "the boys" came swisching around the corner on their Super Motos.

Today was a fantastic walk. I decided to walk uphill. Up, up, up. With a quick pace I soon got my heart rate up and I quickly got warm and all rosy of my cheeks. Look at this. :DWith the latest pop music in my ears I tucked my bottom and belly button in and really worked those leg muscles. "I am sexy and I know it.... dam dam dam dam..." The endorphins started to flow and I kept my rapid pace with a big smile on my face. I was on a walking high!!! So nice.

And I bumped into a patchwork. Right there, next to the road. How surprising is that? A patchwork made of awnings to cover the wood pile at a farmers house. So colorful and charming. :D

When coming back on the small roads behind our village I found an apple baby bush in bloom, or maybe it is something else... The flowers smelled lovely. Looked adorable.

With my favorite music in my ears I danced and fooled around down the field before coming back home. I came home full of energy and feel good inside.

I am so happy I started this project. I am so happy you have joined in. Tomorrow we weigh in and take some new measurements. How are you doing? What is your trick to make this really fun? Any tips on great walking tunes or other things to make your walk a special place? I hope you are all doing well. I hope you are all enjoying this because I am absolutely enjoying this. Tomorrow is reporting day. I am very proud to sign in with mine and I am looking forward to see yours. :D

Next week is Week 5... Lets keep on walking girls. March will be great walking month, I can feel it!

  1. hehe glad you took advantage of the sun, as it is now very grey here :(
    Love that patchwork!!
The blossom may be plum, because I have a new plum tree and the blossom looks the same?
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  3. You look great and your pictures as well :)
After not being able to walk a lot last week, I hope to have more time next week. BUT I went running again for 25 minutes and I just love it - I miss it so much when I can't do it. My husband and I sometimes go for a walk together in the morning before he goes to work...

  7. Hi Annette! Great pictures of your walk! This week I walked 3hours and 15 min, so a slight improvement. I got a new app. for my IPhone called MotionX, which tracks all your steps, calories burned, and even has an alarm if you have been sitting still too long. It's fun!

    1. Hello. 70 000 + steps! Wow. You are doing fantastic girl. That is a great goal to aim for as it is the 10 000 steps a day that is recommended for a healthy life.

Many seem to have dropped out on their reports since Week 4 actually, I am not sure why. Maybe life came in the way. And I haven't been great at keeping up with my walking posts either so I guess we have all fallen off the wagon a bit. I'll pick it up though. I will write a post this week to cheer everyone on and to encourage them to send in reports again. Thanks for pushing me a bit Lisbeth. Have a lovely walking day. :)

    1. Hello dear. Sorry but life has distracted me a bit from the Come Walk With Me project. With a big family visit, Easter and kids home from school I guess you can say I fell off the wagon a bit.

I am looking forward to start walking again this week, week 7 in my challenge. So keep walking Lisbeth. Keep writing your walking diary. I am even if I haven't had the spirit or energy to keep up with my walking posts. They will return though, be so sure. :D
