Nelly's Stripy Crochet Bag - VOILA

Hi everybody. So this is the reveal. The glorious stripes turned into a bag for Nelly Bo. It will become her gym bag at school but as school finishes next week I guess it will become her shopping - beach - play bag instead. :D

I found inspiration and tutorial here.

I used up my scraps of cotton (DK weight on a 3mm/C-2 from My Rainbow Baby Blanket.

It was fast and fun as I did this together with Nelly Bo.  We worked treble crochet (UK)/double crochet (US) rows until desired height. I then lined the bag with fabric from Tanya Whelan, Rosie dot in red from her Darla Collection. Nelly's choice. I strengthen the fabric with vlieseline on the back for even more stability. It was a bit tricky as I haven't done a lining of a bag before, but it turned out very nice.

For the binding I used a cute floral. It really adds a bit of a Wow-factor to the bag in my opinion.

I attached the handle on the inside of the bag to let the binding shine. :D

It is perfect for crochet projects as well and I am having thoughts of making myself a similar one.
A "Crochet-on-the-go" bag. I really need that.

We did a good job, my daughter and I. I am a very proud Mama.

Kärlek Annette

    1. Thanks Tammy. Fooled you there, right? Stripy blankets are fun but this bag was a quicker fix for sure. I am already planning for another one. Enjoy your weekend!

    1. Hej hej! Kul att du tittar in. Tack! Är osäker på åldern av dina små men när de blir tillräckligt stora så sätt en virknmål i handen på dom. Det är jättekul att skapa tillsammans.

    1. HI! Ain't that just the cutest binding ever??? And no she won't let me have it. She had it in school today with her picnic for sports day in it. The girls in her class wondered where she bought it. They all wanted to buy one for themselves. When she told them she had made it with me they were blown away... Maybe an idea for my shop... Making crochet bags.
      Thanks for popping by!
