Miss Tilda Blue - a stylish quilt

She is ready. All dressed, eye lashes black and eye catching. All the final touches made. Just the right amount of pink lip gloss on sweet rosebud lips. She is classy, stylish and looks gracious where ever she sits. She is a Scandinavian beauty.

In spring I knew exactly what I wanted her to look like. I wanted to mix a great collection of Tilda fabric with other non-designer fabric... I wanted flowers and I wanted the beauty in the blue shades and the floral patterns to really show. Large stripes. Just like that. Simple but still elegant. I wanted her to look classy and to be the girl next door at the same time. I think the blue and white stripy binding was the key to success. She is everything I imagined and more.

She doesn't have a colorful backing, no, her backing is of cuddly fleece. Comfort is King. And she is not full of quilted lines, no, she is quilted in the ditch. Simple. Simplicity rules.

I love her. I am facing a difficult decision: Shall I let her go or shall I keep her???... Or maybe I should just make another one. A twin that someone else can enjoy somewhere in this world. What would you do? She is just so...... me! Or at least what I would like to be... Twink...

  5. Treat yourself by keeping this beautiful quilt for yourself. I'm guessing that you are always making things for everyone else ( as most crafters and mothers do ). Your Tilda will make you feel special everytime you set eyes on her.

  6. I think you can keep it, because you need to spoil yourself sometimes, too!!! then, when you'll have the right motivation, you'll do the other one to put in your shop!!!
have a good day, xxx Ale

  14. oh I love this beauty! She is very 'me' too; blue white and pink, a hint of green... yes right up my style.

Making a twin, or even a little series sounds like a great idea! Not similar, each different, but with the same colors and fabrics. Excellent idea! I love the idea of series and matching items. May be a pillow to match? A long sleep hat for winter times? A matching tea cozy?

you'll think of something great for sure
