Something else than Christmas

The pillow making in this house never ends. When my brother in law asked me to make him some pillow covers, the idea stood clear to me. He has this Volkswagen bus that he is restoring... His name is Felix. Yes, big "boys" name their cars and big "girls" name their... sewing machines? Do you have a name for yours? Well, I don't... Maybe I should give her a name... I think her name will be... Alice. Alice... that is nice isn't it?

However, Felix needs pillows and Volkswagen bus screams hippie era doesn't it, so a mix of denim and flower power it is. And I have to say it has been refreshing to work with another color than red.

I was hoping to get these pillows done in time for Christmas but as of usual I am fighting with the deadline devil... I guess I have to pay for express shipping for these to reach Colorado Springs before the 24th...

Despite from squeezing in some sewing today we will decorate our Christmas tree that Jay brought home last night. I have opened up a brand new puzzle to lay and the ginger cookie dough is waiting to be rolled out. While EVERYONE else is out Christmas shopping (I believe...),  I am very happy to pot around here at home, far from the chaos of jingle bells, fake Santas and crying overheated kids in shopping malls. I might be chilled out and all laid back today but I am sure I am gonna be that hysterical gift hunter the day before Christmas when everything already is sold out... So typical me. But right now I don't care. Lets cross that bridge when we get there. :D

Happy Saturday

  5. I adore the pillows. My sons jeans ripped the other day and I saved them for some reason. Maybe pillows?

  6. What a fantastic idea for using up bits of denim! my kids always get holes in their knees so I have bits of cut off legs everywhere.
Love the flower fabric, I'm sure felix will be a very happy camper van.
I while back I saw a patchwork square blanket that alternated denim squares and different kinds of crochet square all in denim colour, with a shell crochet edge running all around the out side. I would go lovely with your pillows.
