Every home needs something handmade to feel cozy and warm. My friend Jenny has just moved house and what can be better than adding something handmade to her new fabulous home?
I thought about Pillows, about Hearts On A String, about putting together a Quilt even... but as I haven't seen her new home yet I found it hard to pick colors and style. So I made her a Granny Crochet Stool and she was delighted. It is now the first thing you will see when you enter her big and light entrance. Perfect for her boys to sit on when putting on shoes. It always feels extremely good to give, especially when the receiver gets so happy.
Here you can see the first Granny Crochet Stool I made. I alternated the edging a bit this time and made a simple shell edging.

Both the stool and your shirt are gorgeous! I really want a stool for our entry way but I need to wait until my little monkeys aren't climbing on everything in their site.
ReplyDeleteA handmade gift is always so much more special and this one is just lovely!

ReplyDeleteI love the stool cover, what a nice gift to make for someone and lovely that she likes it so much. It's really cosy and welcoming. I think the top you are wearing is really nice too!
ReplyDeleteEtt sådant överdrag har jag virkat i massor av olika färger till vår tråkiga pall som står i hallen. Nu är den betydligt trevligare att titta/sitta på.

You are good friend! :) Really, lovely present! J.
ReplyDeleteOoh! That stool is lovely. As is your blouse. Beautiful as always.
ReplyDeleteSuch vibrant colours....I read somewhere that the colours of our crafts/clothes reflect our true inner self...you must be a very bright, cheerful and happy person judging from the colours of the granny square. Wishing you a great weekend churning up more beauties.

I am Jenny - the happy receiver of this fantastic stool from my fantastic friend Annette! What an original gift; beautiful and practical at the same time. And HOMEMADE! But I have to admit what touched me the most is the time that Annette has spent on this gift, 4 hours... for little me. To receive TIME for a mother of 3, with a house, with a husband and with two jobs in paralell... that's what I call generosity! Tusen tack Annette!!
ReplyDeleteOh, the versatility of crochet! This is lovely, it adds color and personality.
ReplyDeleteSad the pattern for stool cover is not available any more.
