Word Verification follow up AND crochet

Thank you all for your input on the Word Verification for comments. I am not shutting anyone off but for a while now, until I have figured out something different, I will continue to have it on.

For you who are Anonymous, I have found out another option for you to use on blogs who are excluding the Anonymous commentators. Use the option Name/URL, write your name, press OK and then leave your message. Very simple. No trace back to you more than a name. This is great news, right? The only negative thing I've noticed when experimenting with this is that the comment gets published immediately instead of me having to moderate the comment like I do with all others... Thank you everyone for your great advice and help and keep saying hi when you are around.

Now lets add some crafts to this blog tech post (it is a necessity isn't it?) Darn! I ran out of yarn. So typical now when I am so closed to being finished. Don't you just hate running out of yarn like this? The color bath of my new order better be the same as this one... Sigh...

  2. That has happened to me and when I went back to the shop they had new colours and the ones I was using had been discontinued ! So in the end instead of a blanket it looked more like a lap-blanket.
It also has happened that the batch has changed and so the colour is not excatly the same, but I dont think that is such a drama when it comes to granny square blankets, unless you are putting the old batch colour next to the new batch colour, does that make sense ? o)

  5. Your blanket is beautiful. And I have run out of yarn plenty of times (while making my cutie pies' clothes not big blankets) and it has always worked out.

  6. I'm going to begin a new granny square afghan. I need to do small grannies instead of a HUGE blanket all at once. I'm also itching to go to the yarn store and look for more yarn.... as IF I need more yarn *lol!*

How is your (elderly) neighbor doing?

  9. Loving how that blanket is looking, although so annoying to run out of yarn. On the comments thing, I think the Name/URL option only comes up if you allow anonymous comments anyway. So, still not good from the spam point of view. :-(

  10. Hi Annette, I stumbled on your blog via Facebook and The Crochet Crowd. I like your gypsy blanket!

I author six blogs and allow anonymous comments BUT have comment moderation turned on as well as word verification. It really helps curb the trollish comments.

Good luck with the comments and I will check back to see what your finished blanket looks like. I'm working on a granny square blanket myself right now but using two sizes of squares and rows.
