A supernormal yarn girl

I wonder why people stare at me when walking down the streets with my yarn bags in hand? And I wonder why the visitors at the café looks at me with wondering eyes when I settle in with all my glorious supplies to have a hooky moment? Because this is completely normal, right?

  35. It is wonderful that you get attention for your yarny crafting! :-) I make instant friends in coffee shops and waiting rooms, everyone is always curious what I'm making...and many are keen to learn more - I'm thinking about making some business cards and get a few new people interested in a crochet workshop! ;-) Chrissie x

  40. I saw a lady knit in the subway. I went up to her and told her I crochet and knit too and asked for some yarn shops in the city. She was really excited to hear this and more than happy to help me with yarn shop :-) See crocheting/knitting in public helps others too :-) So go ahead and do it ladies :-)

  41. I absolutely love and can identify with this picture!

If it isn't normal then I would far rather be abnormal any day!!!

  42. Oh, it's absolutely normal, of course it is, haha! I've been known to set up my crochet and be crocheting away for half an hour before I bother to look up - it's only then I notice people staring!

  43. Hahaha I actually laughed out loud seeing this picture and reading your words. I have been having a relaxing nice time reading through your blog (love all the color and inspiration) but getting back to crocheting in public. I remember the feeling when I first crochet/knitted in public as a teen, I relate to that same feeling when I sit in a busy mall or public place to breastfeed....I think its just the stares that throw me off, but who cares. Handmade things are great and so is nursing your baby ha! :)
