Falling in love

I am amazed and excited. I have fallen head over heels in love. Again. This time it is the popcorn stitch. How come I haven't tried this stitch before? Look at its beauty. And I thought it was complicated but it is the most simple stitch ever. The result so different with its texture and smooth curves. I see a million possibilities for this stitch. And so I remind myself how lucky I am having this great passion - crochet. I am constantly exploring, discovering and learning new things. I fall in love with this craft over and over again and every time feels like the first time. It fulfills me, it helps me grow. It inspires me. It calms me. It is my yoga for my soul.

Just some rambles from a crochet lover to another...

  1. Hi Annette - I too love the popcorn stitch!. I have just finished making some cushion covers and a bag (going to post pictures on my blog later today). I can't wait to see what you do with yours!

  2. Isn't it great, how a seemingly simple form of crafting can produce such a variety of textures? I love the way you did it, makes for a great flower square. :) I did this stitch once as a border, adding fringes to the individual 'popcorns'.

  4. I have always loved the look of the popcorn stitch but have often stayed away from it on big projects because someone once told me it takes up a lot of yarn. You will have to let me know what you think - that's something that has stayed in my head for years and years. Even tho. I love the popcorn look and texture, I have avoided the stitch. I look forward to your popcorn discovery and adventures.

  7. Totally get it! Cant wait to see what you come up with next! I made a 2 round heart this morning for the first time. I was so excited I called my husband at work, took a picture of it and sent it to him in a text! Thankfully, he loves me and doesn't mind these crazy outbursts!

  14. Oh I hear ya sister! ;-) how crazy is it that yarn, a hook and some twisty turns of the two can result in something so pretty that makes us so happy? :-) I love the popcorn stitch, I made a snood/cowl from some pretty Drops wool using popcorn, it is so sweet! Chrissie x
