Popcorn and lace...

The process of creating a design, a pattern. The idea pops up. The endorphins flows through my veins like a happy drug. I get anxious to get started. I want it to go fast. But creating is not a fast process. Anyone creative knows that it takes time.

I seldom make drafts. I just start. Off I go not knowing where it will take me. My initial thought evolves along the journey and the result may turn into something completely different than I first had in mind. It becomes a surprise. For me. The creator herself.

Sometimes it turns out just the way I wanted. Like the Popcorn & Lace Square. The combination is sublime. And I am excited to announce that the pattern is just about finished. Finally it is all written down, all pictures are taken, the re-counting of stitches has been made... Just a few more tweaks... I am so excited!

  2. Oh. It's gorgeous! So nice when it comes together into a pleasing project. (some are more about ripping stitches than creating, as you know.) ;)
