My Scrappy Happy V-stitch Blanket (pattern here) was washed and put outside to dry yesterday in the sunshine... Little did I know weather would change dramatically during the night. The rain is pooouring down today. Well oh well. The blanket is at least brightening up that greyish view from my kitchen window. And at some point it will dry up. Right?
I took our kittens to the vet this morning. It is time to get them neutered. And my oh my did the two of them bend over and turn the house upside down to get their petit dejouner this morning? Jumping all over the place, stroking my legs, crying, making a mess in the bathroom, spreading cat sand all over the floor, fighting with big noise. Staring me out on the table, looking pitiful at the window wanting to go outside. Even trying out my cup of tea in desperation of getting my attention. But, no - dear Izzy (in picture above) and Maya - today there won't be any breakfast. Today is a day you probably will want to forget. But as a responsible owner I have to do what I have to do. I'm sure I will be forgiven once they are back home and those food bowls are filled up again.

awww, the poor loves, they are scared & know something is amiss, they don't like being left somewhere unfamiliar & alone but like you said it's the responsible thing to do for them. hope they come through okay (pictures of the 2 sooks please) they will forget it's happened after a week
ReplyDeleteyour blanket looks beautiful too! even in the rain!
thanx for sharing
Hi! Thank you for your sweet words.
DeleteThose little nuggets... All well. They are both patched up in stitches on their shaved bellies but being anxious to go outside. Amazing how quick they recover from surgery.
Today it is snowing. Weather is unpredictable nowadays.

AH yes, the responsibilities of a pet owner. They can be trying at times but well worth the effort. Hoping sunny days find you soon.
ReplyDeleteHi
DeleteNo sunshine but snow! Kittens all good. Now it is done and I can relax. Baby kittens are cute but I'm not sure they would fit into our busy life. Have a lovely day and thanks for popping in. :)

Your blanket is beautiful hanging in there on the line. Poor kitties. They just don't understand. But I'm sure all will be forgiven soon.

Hi Annette,
ReplyDeletePoor kittens, but it's better for them. We did the same with my little cat :-). It's better. I see that the weather with you isn't really different from the weather here in The Netherlands. Hope the raining stops tomorrow. I really love your blanket, really beautiful :-). Have a nice evening.
Lieve groetjes,
Emily

Hi Emily
DeleteThanks dear. Rain has stopped and I woke up to a winter wonderland again. It will probably be gone by noon but right now it is a pretty sight. And the kittens are super good. So glad it is over. :)
Thanks for popping in Emily.

Love laundry on the line. I have been line drying for a few weeks now. Your blanket is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteHugs to you,
Kris
What a beautiful picture of your blanket. I hope the kitties are recovering - I'm sure it was tough at the time but sometimes tough decisions are for the best. Much like parenting, no? My 3yo seems to hate my decisions most of the time... x
