Something for autumn...

I had this idea a long time ago in French class, about making a poncho with a polo neck. It never happened at the time and the idea was jotted down in my French notes and later transferred into my Book Of Ideas together with a million other ideas.

A new year arrived and I got started with excitement, hoping to have a poncho ready for spring. The idea, so clear and simple in my mind, showed to be a real challenge. I think I have frogged this project back a dozen times... I have put it away to rest half a dozen times. At one point I was ready to throw it in the bin, that is how frustrated I was.

This weekend, after frogging it all back again once more (not the whole yoke segment but not far from it... and oh my gosh that solid dark blue yarn is suffering now after being ripped back so many times... Poor yarn!!!), I gave it a go again after leaving it in a deep slumber over the summer. And you know what, it is falling in to place this time.

I'm almost happy with it... It still needs some tweaks and changes to it but I will have to make another one to get that all in place. I just can not unravel this one more time. This will be a prototype and I'm looking forward to make  a real version later on. For the first time in ages, I'm super excited about my crochet project. It feels good. Can't wait to finish it now.

I'm so ready for autumn fresh air and chilly mornings. You know those mornings when it is to cool to go to work in just a shirt or a dress, a shawl is to little or complicated and a jacket way to much... And for those mornings I really want this poncho. Cross fingers I will be ready in time.

Well, I don't knit so I try to transform knitting into crochet which is not always so easy. Getting there though. Thanks for visiting today.
