Schools are closed
All schools are closed. All buses are out of traffic. Teachers and students can't commute between the small villages here in the Jura mountains. The snow is lying thick and high and the "bise" - the northern cold and dry wind - is almost making it impossible to drive through the fields. Light snow sweeps over the fields, feeling like a thousand needles if you dare to go out!!!. Before you know it everything is just white anywhere you look and you think you are knocking on heavens door. There is nothing to guide you...
We are cuddled up at home in PJ's, making muffins and watching endless hours of TV. I'm choosing pictures for my new Wilma Cable Hat pattern which will very soon be listed in my Etsy Shop. Stay tuned... I'm off to maybe get dressed... Or maybe not... Who cares on a day like this anyway? I think I'll have another muffin.

Stay safe. Northern Norway is "closed" this week end. The inhabitants of an island outside Bodø, where I come from, up north, have been evacuated today. Their houses are only 3 m above sea level and they are expecting wanes uptil 25m... Crazy!

ReplyDeleteThe kids must be thrilled to get some extra time off school. What a lovely snug and homely time you made of it too! I wonder how working mothers of young children manage?
