INSTAGRAM POST SHARED FROM @MYROSEVALLEY |
I started this crochet project on our trip to France during October break. It is a slow growing project. A very lovable project which requires no major efforts more than choosing color combination every 12 rows or so... very suitable for me right now and perfect for binge watching The Staircase on Netflix. I love the neutral color theme which gives me some kind of creative relaxation for my head. The same effect as if you de-clutter a basket full of stuff. It takes away stress and makes you feel liberated. I find myself going back to neutrals after the last colorful leaves drop to the ground in autumn. Soon after that I’m struck by a phase of red and white for Christmas and then when the new year arrives I’m back into pastels. It is funny how we have these color cycles that we follow. Subconsciously or not. Can you relate?
NOTE: If you follow me on @myrosevalley on Instagram, you might have read this post already. I won't share all my Instagram posts here, but some of them that feel special I will share here on my blog simply because my blog is my original home in Cyber World. And sometimes, when my words come flowing on Instagram, I feel I want to share them here too. I hope you don't mind.

Gorgeous colours, especially that deep purple. I know exactly what you mean about cycles. A while back I really needed some dark blues, but now that moment has passed and it has to be neutrals. But before long, I'll be back where I started, I know. Hurray for spontaneous sharing and posting. I like the natural thing, rather than the carefully thought out algorithm-friendly thing. Wishing you and yours a lovely weekend. CJ xx
ReplyDeleteI think I will start doing the same thing. Posting whenever I want. I’ve never been very calculating w any of it and it probably shows. About colors, you are right. I have been going through my craft room and just decided to make an Afghan out of a bunch of different yarns, but they are all cream color. I’m ready to get Christmas decorations out, but my colors the rest of the year are mostly pastels.
ReplyDeletegood decision!
ReplyDeleteFunny, your simple photo inspired me to click on bloglovin' link and then your words echoed exactly why I like to blog - not for the over thinking but just to see all the beautiful things that people make. Jo x
