A little flower for you!
Lately I have been making a lot of flowers. Making flowers can easily get just as addictive as making granny squares.
Right now I am just experimenting. With different yarn, colours, needle sizes, patterns, improvising. With scraps of left over yarn. It is fun. And it breaks up the work on my blanket. I try to make 5 rows a day, usually when the house get quiet after kids bedtime sometime around 8.30 in the evening.
We have had winter break from school this last week, and we have all been sick. Coughing, runny noses, headaches, sore throats. You know. I am so happy we didn't book that ski break to Cortina in Italy that we were talking about a few weeks ago. We would have been stuck in the hotel watching TV for a week...
But even with sickness in the house it has been a pleasant week. We have done some ice skating, skiing (we live in the Alps right - we don't really need to go anywhere but 10 minutes away from our house up the hill and there we go - great skiing everywhere . Lucky us!) , I squeezed in a cross country run, the kids have had sleep overs, we've done some baking and lots of Wii tournaments (anyone else enjoying the Wii games?). Lots of drawing, pearl platter making, play dooh and some cuddly evenings on the sofa in front of the TV. It is nice to do kind of nothing sometimes. I find we run around all the time, entertaining kids until they can't and forget about how to entertain themselves. Its good with some quiet time. Together.
And today we will make a cake and be together a little more. Celebrating Valentines day. With new hearty and colorful coffee and tea cups. Happy Valentine to you too!
