A short complaint as my elbow still hurts but my hopes are up. I got a cortison injection yesterday and hopefully things will go back to normal pretty soon. It has been 6 weeks since a picked up my crochet hook... Isn't that just depressing?
Well, now it so happens that my doctor kinda gave me the advice to find another hobby... But I won't kick off all my beautiful yarn and my happy drug hobby just like that. I will take a looooooong break from the hooking though and continue to explore this quilting thing instead for a while. I have told myself to tuck away all the tempting yarn and projects in a big box up until my birthday in mid November, just to make sure this inflammation of the muscle joint doesn't come back. And when I start again, I will start sloooooooooow. Sloooowly, sloooowly brings you forward too. Enough of these crochet maraton sessions of hours on end that I used to do. I am not gonna get carried away like I used to. 15-20 minute sessions is good enough, then I can at least do it. Crochet is to precious to be without and less can be more, sometimes. So enough about that.

I am waiting for the backing of my quilt so that I can finish it next week. Meanwhile I am, like I said, surfing, searching and indulging myself into the quilting world, fabrics, patterns, colours. Learning about Fat Quarters, Jelly Rolls, Charm Packs (the picture shows a fat quarter pile, for you who didn't knew, like me) and how much is a yard anyway? So many new words and things to learn and it is so so so exciting! The beauty of finding a new hobby!
So to inspire you all here comes a tiny potpurri of wonderful stuff. Quilt stuff that is. Enjoy. Jump in and swim around in the pool of colours. It can always inspire to a new color combination for your next ripple blanket or granny square. Today is a good day!

Maybe a project for today... Can't take that long, can it?
Another place for inspiration is Sew Mama Sew Quilting Pool on Flickr, fantastic!
