I got inspired by Nelly's patchwork pillow and I had to make a baby quilt in green and orange. So perfect when Easter is on your door step, just waiting - dying- to get in! :D
Backed with fleece.
Fabrics are a mix of 30's prints, recycled vintage sheets from Sosovintage and from thrift markets completed with some new modern gingham and polka dots.
No quilting. Just sewn together at the edges to make a border/binding/edging.
Squares measures 5"/12.5cm each, a total of 64 was used and the blanket measures 34.5"x34.5"/88x88cm.
It is extremely cuddly with the fleece backing... cozy coooozzzzz...
Simple and joyful. This baby blanket makes me happy.
And no, I am not having more babies (sweat pushing out from my forehead only thinking of going down that road again...). But maybe some friend of mine will have another baby... Some day, sometime, somewhere...
Ciao!
Annette

ReplyDeleteDear Andrea,
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in! :D I still struggle to align my squares but with a some practice I am now getting better. My not so well aligned squares are seldom shown in my pictures... Call me smart! :D
Diary of a Quilter has taught me a lot on my quilt journey (she has the most fantastic tutorials and tips and tricks for how to make a great quilt) and her best advice on this issue is to pay attention to your seam allowance when piecing. It should ALWAYS be a 1/4". That and the importance of cutting perfectly measured squares does the trick really.
Have a nice rest of the day. And see you soon again. Coming over to yours for a peek too now.
Ciao!
Annette
