Something stripy, red and white...

This weekend I cleaned out the shed, put away all the bicycles, swept up all the leaves from my Wisteria in front of the house. I looked at the cows and they stared back at me. I took down the swings from the apple tree and ripped out the Dahlia plant. I need winter flowers. My house looks all naked and cold.

I've been longing to make something different than pillows. To CREATE and feel the buzz of MAKING something new. Piecing strips together from my white and red scrap basket has been very therapeutic. It is very Christmassy, my new table runner of the year, and I am sure it will be bringing just as much Christmas spirit as my old one has done through the years.

Yes, I am planning Christmas full on by now. How about you? Are you getting sucked into the Christmas spirit already or are you holding off until the first of advent? Christmas is by far my favorite holiday of the year. I just can't wait until I can start to play Michael Buble's Christmas CD, decorate with stars in the windows and pine tree branches. Hearts. Red. White. Green. What does your Christmas look like? Is traditional or modern. Or kitschy and eclectic? I love love love this time of the year.

PS Stay tuned... I am preparing a Give Away...

Added info of today: My table runner is NOT ready yet... This is only the front patchwork of it, a WiP... I still have to quilt it and bind it so... I'll show you the backing and binding soon. :D

  4. Oh I love it! What did you use for the backing? (cuz I'm the type who turns things over... just to look *lol!*)

I LOVE Christmas! The tree will go up at my house either on Friday or Saturday. I've had Christmas music on Pandora for over a week now (while I'm crocheting my latest blanket). I have put up my holiday wreaths outside tho (much to the grumbling of my oldest daughter - 'It's not even THANKSGIVING yet!' *grin*

  11. I guess our family tree is pretty traditional. Red and gold baubles..... wooden stars.....the angel at the top of the tree. I love your runner. It is so christmassy and ...well, red and white. Nice piece of work.

T.o.m. NK har avtäckt sina skyltfönster redan. Man hinner ju ledsna innan julen är här.
Hemma hos oss julpyntar vi inte förrän veckan före jul - förutom adventsstakar och -stjärna i fönstren.
    Kram
