A little baby boy was born sometime late January 2013. His name is Charlie. He is brother number 3 in his family. I met him for the first time the other day and gave him a cozy blanket. I also whipped up a cute flower garland for his pushchair. Both items were happily received by Charlie and his mom.
I edged this blanket with some stripes and hand stitched "Charlies Filt" (Swedish for Charlie's Blanket) on it to make it his very own. It turned out somehow wobbly and uneven as I was imrpovising, but I find it kind of charming as it is for a kid anyway. :D

The fabric are all upcycled old vintage sheets and fabrics I have found in markets and thrift stores. It makes it even more special as I love to make something new out of something old.
I hope this blanket will be the kind of blanket that follows him everywhere, dragged behind him in the dirt, cuddled up with on the sofa, snoozing in when traveling... Packing it when going on vacation. I really love how it turned out with its cozy navy blue fleece backing and all. And I really love making these baby quilts. So much fun. So much joy. So quick and satisfactory.
Welcome to this world little Charlie. Looking forward to meet you again and again and again and to watch you grow. Somewhat babies always make my hormones go nuts... They are highly addictive. Those baby cheeks to pinch. The teeny tiny hand to hold. The restful sleeping face to watch. Less addictive when hunger or discomfort sets in. I am quite happy to return a little bundle to his or hers Mom when that happens. I've done my part rocking babies. But still.... Love them.
