If we had a dog, I would want a Walter

There is a little puppy called Walter who came to visit one evening. To his delight he found Emmy Bo, and they became best friends forever and ever... I think Walter came to dog heaven and Emmy Bo probably thought it was dog heaven too. The garden became their playground, perfect for hide and seek, chase and catch. After hours of non stop play, running after sticks and balls, jumping and sprinting across the lawn, little Walter suddenly crashed into deep sleep from exhaustion by his owner's feet inside when we were having dessert.

A puppy needs a child and in my opinion a child needs a puppy. I would love to have a Walter in our family. I can only see benefits from it. Until our dream of having our own puppy one day (we are not allowed, read here... so tragic...) we can only enjoy looking at that picture of him running off with ears flapping and his little furry tail wiggling. So darn cute that little swagging bottom.

  2. Puppies and dogs need people as they are sociable animals. So many people have dogs and leave them all day. That is so unkind. It leads to unsociable behaviour which then annoys the owner and they then see the dog as the problem. Yet it is they who are the problem. Only get a dog if you know that someone is going to be around for most hours of most days. They also need two or even more walks every single day and many just don't get that because the novelty wears off and they are seen as a nuisance.

Most homes are not suited for dogs these days, simply because people are out at work all day. It is a shame but the animals need to be accommodated for properly. There are too many that end up abandoned. Dogs and puppies are really hard work and make their presence felt. No one should go into getting one lightly. Children might like to have a puppy waiting at home for them, but do puppies like waiting for children and owners to come home?

  3. I hope that one day you will live where your children can have the joy of growing up with a dog. I read your other post and how unfair it was to all of you to have to give up the pups you loved so instantly. I myself would have moved immediately, but that is me. There is nothing like the love between a dog and a child. Joy does not even begin to cover it.
I am hoping she gets to spend many days with Walter, that way she does have the love if even only for a short time.

  6. Hi Annette, What a cute little thing he is. Reminds me of a giant version of him we met in Greece once called Socks...I fell in love with him too and could have easily brought him home with me. Emmy Bo looks like shes having fun, did she fall asleep after too?
    Hugs Julie x
