Pretty clothes pins

A while  ago I spotted some pimped up clothes pins in Internet World and I just knew I had to make some for myself. Laundry, and then particularly the hanging laundry on a clothes line outside, is one of my everyday (and never ending...) pleasures. Yes, I know. It sounds crazy doesn't it. But I didn't say I liked the folding or putting away of laundry... Naughty me. That part I leave for the kids to do. Ha!

Anyway. For this little project I had to have following:

Wooden clothes pins
Washi tape with cute patterns
Acrylic hobby paint
Paint brush
Rotary cutter
Ruler
Cutting mat

I got started. Painted my pins white, pink and green. Let them dry. And then came the fun part - cutting Washi tape strips, attaching the tape and cutting off ends to fit the peg and - VOILA! Am I a happy laundry girl or what? I must have the most beautiful clothes pegs in the world. And I will make more, be so sure. This was great fun.

I found the Washi tape on ETSY, here and here. Which pin is your favorite? I think that shabby chick light turquoise one with the roses on... And I have to say, suddenly the hanging up laundry part even  gets more satisfying. It is amazing how much a little cuteness and color can make the most boring (for many - not me!!!) job fun. You should try it.

  1. Cute makes the world a better place to live! They are all adorable and I love the red gingham paired with the aqua floral. It would take me ages to hang the laundry because I would be busy making cute color combinations with the pins :) Happy weekend! xoxo Debbie

  2. Ooooh..pretty! I think I'm going to have to spend the money to get my clothes line in shape (it has wires..rusty ones) just so I can tell my fiancee that I need to make these. I do love the turquoise, but my favorite has to be the white one with the pink and yellow flowers.

  6. Hi Annette! I LOVE your decorated pegs. You made really good use out of that pretty Washi tape. I haven't used that on pegs yet, but have painted tiny wooden pegs as table settings! I'll bet hanging out your washing is even more fun now!
    Have a beautiful day! Sandra

  20. Question regarding the decorated clothespins -- after the washi tape is applied -- is it waterproof?
