After my WiP post I had a big giggle reading through all your comments. One thing I know now is: I'm not alone! Thank you for all your confessions.
Janet shared with me that she has devoted the month of June to be "The Finishing Up WiP Month". Isn't that just a brilliant idea? This way a lot of WiPs, at least the small ones, can be finished in the near future and just in time for vacation, I can start on something new and fun again!!! YAAAY! I jumped on the wagon instantly and I am already being successful.
First out is a Maybelle Garland for a friend. Such a quick finish! I already had most of the Maybelle flowers made, only had to add two, and then I crocheted them all together, packed them nicely with a pretty card and now it is on its way in Snail Mail to its recipient. Happy me - I finished something!
So which WiP are you going to finish before the end of June? I challange you...
PS 1: Things I've learned through my previous WiP post is: I'm not alone, we are many nut cases out there, I'm far from the worst, but I'm still not on the light side either. This is completely normal. Apparently the diagnosis is Startitis. Love that! :)
PS 2: Tutorial can be found here: How To Make A Maybelle Garland.
PS 3: A super nice yarn for making Maybelle Flowers is Tilda yarn from Svarta Fåret, choose your own colors and purchase in my Yarn Shop. SPECIAL! New swooning pastels available.

Аннет, большое спасибо вам за цветочки. Они мне очень нравятся. Сейчас вяжу скатерть из этих цветов. http://natalushka34.blogspot.ru/2015/04/blog-post.html
ReplyDeleteСпасибо.
*cheering* You finished a project! I will finish my son's *Løveungen* Lioncub that I am crocheting, just the ears and eyes left. And I have a crochet dress for a woman, I hope to be all done, but so much work.
ReplyDeleteStartitis is the word :o)
I invite you to share at my link up today, you will for sure inspire others.
Have a brilliant day
I need to finish projects - this month would be good.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad my idea has inspired you. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your finished projects. I'm making good progress with mine so I'm hoping it won't be long until I can reward myself with a new project.
ReplyDeleteHave a good day.
I love your Maybelle flowers and garland and I was tempted to start one myself! LOL! But I resisted and I am focused right now on finishing hand tying a quilt for a grandson who's birthday is in July and also knitting 2 giraffes for July birthdays (one is almost done just need to sew together) and then I have 52 preemie hats that I have to have ready for July also but I have 40 some finished or more. I need to count them today. I also cast on a new pair of socks for me! Yes, good month to finish some WIP's and since most are birthdays I really do have to finish them!
ReplyDeleteLovely garland and a challenge! I better join you and at least finish a pillow case I started in April and bracelets to my brothers daughters I started in May. Have way too many WiPs at the moment, but I am also writing down many of them to patterns so that is my excuse :-).
ReplyDeleteGlad that you have a diagnosis and realise you are not alone!!! We all have a touch of that I think if we are crafters! xx
ReplyDeleteQue lindas te quedaron y los colores muy bonitos, bss
ReplyDeleteI love this garland - what a lovely quick make! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm very determined to finish my read sweater and a colourful baby blanket that was a cal but is now a crochet alone (ups, that's still a cal) before summer break (3 weeks to go). Have a nice weekend. Regula
ReplyDeleteCongrats! A lovely gift. One down and who knows how many more to go! ;D Sounds like a great plan! I think I'll try that too. God luck to us both!
ReplyDeleteHello Annette, I have just discovered your lovely blog through a Pinterest posting of one of your gorgeous afghans. I must tell you I feel as though I have traveled through my own memories while scrolling through your posts. Oh the Leggo's we have toted on family vacations! What prompted me to leave a comment though was the absolute charming post that had the duel photos of your children settling in for the night. I too have a son and daughter, and your split screen photos perfectly capture the differences between boys and girls. Wonderful! I am also here searching for your floral afghan on blue background. I know I will enjoy the hunt as I scroll through your pages. So happy to have found you! Elizabeth

This garland is lovely, so happy, thank you for the inspiration. I've just started my new blog, addicted to crochet now.

Hi again. The dish cloth is ready. And the flower wreath is soooo close now (I have four days to go before Midsommar)!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this challenge, it made me speed up!!!
I wish you a nice day and Trevlig midsommar!
Great idea Annette. I hope you manage to really bust that pile. I (just) managed to get Abi's birthday gifts made - or nearly, just one to go and her card to make!! I'm not sure if I shall make my monthly challenge target this month but I aim to try :-)
ReplyDeleteFinishing all my WIPs is my goal for this summer - with a pair of socks, a shawl, 3 blankets and 2 patchwork quilts on the go, I have a lot to work on!
